There are a few non profit/charity events, that include International Development in the UK, and include:

Venue: London

identity careers workshop is a unique one day workshop designed exclusively for those who want to pursue a career in the international development sector. Whether you’re a recent graduate, a returned volunteer or a career changer, the identity careers workshop is for you. During the day you will:

  • be given an overview of the sector and the developing trends
  • identify your mission and develop a mission statement
  • space to recognise your core hard and soft skills
  • learn what makes an effective cover letter, CV and a winning application form
    craft an elevator pitch to help you in your networking.

Identity careers workshop is run by experienced NGO workers, who together have over 30 years experience of the international development sector, combined with experience of helping hundreds of people to find their niche.

Positive Change

A series of evening workshops with over 10 speakers at each specialist event. Topics have included:

  • Careers in Environmental, Conservation and Sustainable Development and Fair Trade

  • Getting a Charity Job: Fundraising, Campaigning and Project Management

  • Careers in International Development


Getting into International Development
University of London Careers Service
Venue: London

One day work shop with presentations and speakers from NGOs and others in the international development sector. Open to everyone.

Venue: London

Is a non profit sector careers fair each autumn in London. Includes charities and non profits and some international development organisations.

This 2 day event covers the whole charity sector and offers interesting workshops and Master Classes.

Open Evenings


Some organisations, for example Merlin and Medair, often have open evenings where you can find out about their work and vacancies.



Agencies  such as BOND and RedR offer special one or two day workshops.
